Where the body stops, the story begins.

Pèras follows a simple question: what happens when you reach your limit and stay there a little longer. Through Nikos’ journey, it explores effort, uncertainty, and the quiet decisions that shape who we become.

Beyond 24

A 24-hour swim that explores the edge of endurance and will

An open water swim where time stretches, the body slows, and presence becomes the only way forward.

Moments from the journey

Every frame holds a piece of the story. Not the highlights, but the moments in between — where effort becomes reflection and limits become questions.

THE DOCUMENTARY

What is Pèras

The documentary follows Nikos as he prepares for and attempts a 24-hour swim, living with multiple sclerosis and learning to move with it, not against it. It stays close to the process — the repetitions, the pauses, the moments where nothing looks impressive but everything matters. What unfolds is not a story about pushing harder, but about staying present when things become uncertain.

Creative Direction

The production is shaped by Panagiotis Meliadis, who approaches the story with a focus on presence rather than performance. The intention is to stay close to the real moments — to observe, not direct, and to let the story unfold with honesty and respect for the process.

Support & auspices

Pèras is supported by local institutions that recognize the value of this effort and its message. The municipalities of Katerini, Dion–Olympus, Pydna–Kolindros, and Alimos stand alongside the initiative, which is held under the auspices of the Hellenic Federation of Persons with Multiple Sclerosis.

The Pèras Community

Different paths. The same quiet question: how far can I go?

The Pèras community is made of people who are working toward their own personal pèras — in sport, in work, in life, or in moments that rarely get shared. Everyone walks a different path, but all of them know what it means to reach a limit and choose how to respond to it. If this feels familiar, you are already closer than you think — join the community.
